五色旗與十八星旗紋髮簪Hairpin with Republican flags

髮簪上有交叉的國旗圖樣：五色旗（紅、黃、藍、白、黑，象徵五族共和），以及十八星旗（1911 年武昌起義所用）。兩者皆於 1928 年被青天白日滿地紅國旗取代。

由國旗圖案的歷史脈絡，可推測此類髮簪為民初 1928 年以前、於湖南湖北地區所使用之物件。

The hairpin is decorated with crossed flags: the Five-coloured flag of the early Republic (red, yellow, blue, white and black for the Han, Manchu, Mongol, Hui and Tibetans) and the 18-stars "Wuhan" flag of the 1911 revolution. Both were replaced in 1928.

We can guess that hairpins like this were made before 1928 in Hunan and Hubei. The flags show how important these symbols were at the time.
